Article - I
The GT Power Network
The GT Power Network is made up of:
(1) Registered Users of GT-Power as supplied by P&M Software
who have received valid CRC's to operate the Netmail
programs and who have indicated a willingness to join the
network through agreement with this constitution.
Article - II
The members of the GT Power Network
The members of this network:
(1) Are those that operate the GT Power suite of
communication programs to exchange messages electronically
across their telephone lines between "Nodes" in the network.
(2) May be either System Operators of Bulletin Board Systems
or Point Nodes that only connect with other Nodes for the
purpose of exchanging messages.
Article - III
The purpose of the GT Power Network
(1) The members of this network are made up of those nets
that have joined together their individual nodes into area
nets for the purpose of providing the fastest and most
efficient exchange of their messages between the members of
the rest of the network by whatever means those participating
individual nets and nodes agree to.
Article - IV
The obligations of the GT Power Network
The members of this network by their individual presence
within this network agree:
(1) To be responsible for the operation of their own systems
and all costs that this may incur.
(2) To not impose unreasonable costs onto other members
without their consent, by such abusive actions as large file
transfers through the mail connections or disruption of
regular mail connect times with extensive echo requests that
tie up another's system.
(3) To operate Bulletin Board Systems which will provide
access to echo conferences that they carry as long as they
abide by the echo sponsor's guidelines for the
individual echos. ie... Adult, Sysop or other restrictions.
Article - V
The Method of GT Power Network Operations
The members of this network consist of many individual area
nets which are made up of a least two members systems for
each net. Systems joining the net where there is not a
current net operating will be affiliated with a nearby net
until such time as there is at least one more system to join
in the formation of a new Net.
(This section would apply only to new nodes entering the
network after the adoption of this constitution. All nodes
previously admitted as a single net would continue as
admitted.)
Article - VI
The Rights of the GT Power Network
The members of this network have agreed by their
participation within the network:
(1) that nothing they shall do while a member of the network
will infringe upon the right of other members.
(2) to hold the network, its officers, and members legally
and financially free of any damages caused by their actions,
whether deliberate or not.
(3) that participation in the activities in the GT Power
Network shall remain free to all members at all times and
that agreements made within any individual net must not
infringe the right to free access.
(4) that individual nets may for financial reasons choose to
share their expenses via a monthly contribution from each
Sysop.
Article -VII
The Offices of the GT Power Network
The members of this network have agreed by their
participation within the network, to accept an elected form
of representation. This body/committee shall:
(1) to be comprised of active members of the network.
(2) be selected by a scheduled annual election carried out on
the network.
(3) be comprised of as many individuals as the membership
from time to time determine and subsequently elect.
(4) The Task Force shall stand as officers until the
conclusion of the first election.
Article - VIII
The Obligations of Officers of the GT Power Network
Elected representatives of the GT Power Network agree:
(1) to support and abide by the rules and decisions as made
by the members of the network in any matter.
(2) to select from those elected, a chairperson to function
as the spokesperson for the elected representatives.
Article - IX
Voting Procedures in the GT Power Network
The members of this network have agreed by their
participation within the network, to accept the following
method for making changes to the network.
(1) Anyone may call for a vote/election.
(2) 25% or more of members must support the call, thereby
"confirming" it.
(3) Once confirmed there shall be a minimum of 2 and a
maximum of 6 weeks for discussion.
(4) If 13% of the 25% confirmations are withdrawn the vote
lapses.
(5) Under no circumstances will the annual election of
officers be cancelled.
(6) In special circumstances (Act of God, health etc) the
annual election of officers may be postponed, but for no
longer than 30 days.
Article - X
The Reports from the GTPN Committee
The elected representatives shall report publicly through
their selected chairperson every month, on the activities
coming before them and the actions they have taken. This
report must be made even when no actions/activities have
occurred within this group.
Article - XI
Appointment by the GTPN Committee
The elected representative shall have the right to select
other members of this network to act on their behalf in the
performance of certain duties or functions. Those selected
shall be answerable to the Committee.
Possible duties for such appointees might include such
matters as collecting information on a subject of importance
to the network as a whole or to the committee specifically.
Article XII
The Guidelines for the Operation of the GTPN Network
1. The GT Power Network is operated under general guidelines
that promotes the efficient and prompt delivery of net and
echo mail and recognizes the responsibilities and rights of
the individual nodes that make up this network. These
guidelines have been adopted through general consensus of the
members and reflect the shared desires of the members to work
together on a cooperative basis.
2. From time to time the elected representatives of the
network will publish guidelines so that members may be
informed. Any member shall have the right to propose changes
or additions to the guidelines in accordance with Article IX.
3. From time to time, the officers of the network or the
committees of the network may propose, adopt, or change such
guidelines for the good of the network.
4. However, such guidelines are only intended to provide a
reference to the members and to suggest how network
operations might be accomplished. The operation of any node
shall always be at the discretion and judgement of the system
operator.
5. Any additions or changes to this constitution or other
requirements for membership in the network must be approved
by the network membership in accordance with Article IX.
